United reaches 300 supporters’ clubs milestone

Manchester United has surpassed 300 official supporters’ clubs, further expanding our global family of fan groups.

From 3am match screenings to in-person Warm-Up events at Old Trafford, United’s growing network of supporters’ clubs never fails to get behind the team and show incredible levels of loyalty and passion, all around the world.
 
We officially welcomed the South Carolina Red Army as the 300th supporters’ club – one of eight launched in the United States this year – and they will be actively involved in the club’s summer tour activities, including the friendly versus Liverpool at the University of South Carolina’s (USC) Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, SC on 3 August.

“As a fan of Manchester United for 35 years, being involved as part of the 300th official Manchester United fan group is a remarkable achievement that fills me with immense pride.

“Being a member of the SC Red Army not only connects me with fellow fans who share my love for the club, but it also reinforces my lifelong dedication to Manchester United.”
Other groups to have recently been made official include those in Virginia, Zambia, Middle Tennessee, Sale, Alabama, West Sussex and Oklahoma! This season we also welcomed our official Armed Forces Supporters’ Club and a Youth Supporters’ Club for fans aged 16-25.
 
Growing the network is a core pillar of United’s fan engagement plan to deepen the connection between supporters and the football club. Following in-depth discovery work and ongoing consultation with fan groups, we have committed to supporting branches with member onboarding and improving supporter experience via new engagement channels.

This season alone, United has launched an extranet for Reds to engage with other supporters’ clubs, receive club updates and news, and share matchday experiences.

This has led to inter-supporters’ club football tournaments and global meet-ups: the Youth Supporters’ Club joined match screenings at our South Africa Supporters’ Club during a recent visit and the long-running Malta Supporters’ Club (of 65 years) united with the Women’s Supporters’ Club during this year’s winter training camp.

“Supporters’ Clubs all over the globe represent the flagship identity of the officially biggest fanbase for any football club. From the oldest to the newest, from the largest to the smallest, fans should be proud to be part of their closest supporters’ club. These communities unite fans, give a sense of belonging and provide avenues for exclusive fan engagement.”
 
In addition, the club has hosted six Warm-Up events (with one more to come) in the International Suite at Old Trafford across the 2023/24 season, exclusively for supporters’ clubs to connect with fellow United fans ahead of home matches, enjoy legend Q&As, view club memorabilia from the stadium museum, experience Old Trafford at night via stadium look-ins, raise funds for the Manchester United Foundation and forge lasting friendships.

“The work the club secretaries and committee members do to set up the clubs, put on events and screenings, run coaches or flights to games and to support Manchester United is incredible and something we passionately support.
